In a small village in Kutch, India; 10-year-old Mukti wishes to swim in a newly filled lake, which has appeared following many years of drought.
His seemingly simple wish turns to an unexpected discovery about himself, which causes him to question everything he knew.

About the Artist
Nemil Shah is an exciting, rising filmmaker from India. His short film, Dal Bhat, about a boy learning something unexpected about his identity, was awarded the Ritwik Ghatak 'Golden Award' in the Short Fiction category at the South Asian Short Film Festival.
Dal Bhat has also screened at world festivals & industry events, including the ReelOut Queer Film Festival 2022 and the Indian Film Festival of Cincinatti.
